I soon added a second broodmare, Haley’s Star (Thee Desperado X Haleys Pleasure), and my daughter, Vonda Gale Houchin, and I were in the business of breeding these beautiful horses. Very soon after that first purchase, the “show bug” bit me, and I placed Muniq Bayad in training for the Arkansas Victory Challenge in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She showed beautifully, and brought in several ribbons, not the least of which was the Grand Champion title. With no experience, I showed her at the Kansas City Royal; in Amateur, with me handling, she took Reserve. She also won her class as a two-year-old. After her win in 2001 at the Egyptian Event in the Extended Speciality as a three-year-old, it was time to let her become what was originally intended—a producer of exceptional quality straight Egyptian Arabians.
From these two foundation mares, Muniq Bayad and Haleys Star, our herd has grown. Shahiraa Gale, Haley’s Star’s first foal for us, has since produced two beautiful chestnut fillies by The Minstril. Haley’s Alia Gale (Al Baraki X Haley’s Star), a classic black beauty, was sold. Congratulations to Yuval Keller of The Center of the Arabian Horse for that purchase. Alia has already successfully shown for her new owner.
Gale Arabian horses are currently boarded at Rose Hill Equine Center, Rose Bud, Arkansas. Inquiries may be directed to Betty Gale Davis (see contact information at the bottom left of this page).
Exquisite Straight Egyptian Arabians
What does it take to fall in love with an Arabian horse? Only one look!!! The sunny spring day in 1999 when Muniq Bayad (Thee Desperado X DeSha Jordania), as a prancing yearling, chose me as her owner, was the beginning of my loving relationship with straight Egyptian Arabians and the foundation of Gale Arabians. Having no experience with horses did not deter my eagerness to get better acquainted. Years ago as a high school student I did ride a horse—that was the extent of my knowledge!
